We are offering numerous American Red Cross courses including CPR, AED, First Aid and Lifeguarding.

Classes are held conveniently at local branches throughout the year.

Blending Learning Format Course: American Red Cross Blended Learning combines online learning with in-person skill sessions conducted by an American Red Cross certified instructor.

Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children, and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements.

This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the Instructor-Led Skills Session.

Upon successful completion, a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

ARC Lifeguarding Course

Blending Learning Format Course: The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Blended Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. The blended learning option combines online learning with in-person skill sessions conducted by a Red Cross-certified instructor.

Mandatory Prerequisites:
• Must be at least 15 years old by the last day of the course

PREREQUISITE SWIM TEST:
o Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence; 150 yard swim, 2 minutes tread, 150 yard swim
– While swimming, you must swim continuously, keeping your face in
the water and demonstrating good breath control.
– You may use the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both.
– While treading, you can only use your legs.
o Swim approx. 20 yards, surface dive to depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve 10lb object, kick on back carrying the object approx. 20 yards, exit the pool without the ladder in under 1 minute and 40 seconds

Certifications Earned [valid for 2 years]:
• Lifeguarding
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
• Standard First Aid

*The course is for NEW or EXPIRED lifeguards. This is NOT a RECERTIFICATION course.

ARC Lifeguarding RECERT Course

To participate in the Lifeguarding Recertification class, you must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, and certification expired by no more than 30 days.

During the course, individuals will have the opportunity to review and practice their skills.

Participants must pass the final exam and the three (3) final skill assessments which include:

Assessment 1 – Timed Response
• Participants must complete a passive submerged rescue, extricate with the assistance of an assisting rescuer, and rapid assessment (including the delivery of 2 initial ventilations by either rescuer) within 1 minute, 30 seconds, and then provide 3 minutes of single-rescuer CPR.

Assessment 2 – Rotation and Scanning
• Participants must rotate into the lifeguard station, conduct surveillance from the station for 1 minute, and rotate out of the station.

Assessment 3 – Final Team Response Testing Scenario
• Participants must perform a passive submerged rescue, extrication and rapid assessment, followed by multiple-rescuer CPR and use of AED and BVM resuscitator.

Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding recertification course will be issued the following American Red Cross certificate:

Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid
